Jesse Lane is an award-winning coloured pencil artist in the US. He specialises in photo realistic portraits and was commissioned by Derwent to design the Lightfast packaging.
Jesse's goal is to advance colour pencil as a fine art medium. He began drawing in high school after his art teacher told him he was the worst in the class. That said, he has always loved art and has worked daily to hone his draughtsmanship skills.
Since launching his professional art career in 2015, his portraits have won many best-of-show awards, including the Salmagundi Club's Annual Non-Member Exhibition, competing against some of America's top painters and sculptors. His artwork has been on the cover of The Artist's Magazine with the headline "Colored Pencil Cracks the Fine Art Ceiling.” He is represented by RJD Gallery in Bridgehampton, New York, USA.
